[ John reaches him before Geralt can do so. It's good to hear from John. He'd been worried he might come across him in one of the castle's corridors—or worse. ]

Misplaced to Thorne.

[ A pause; it takes Geralt a bit of extra thought to remind himself that John is soft-hearted and worries quite a bit over him. And that he should not, as he does with others, keep the man fretting between answers. Unintentionally or otherwise. ]

[John supposes that he should be grateful he doesn’t find himself in Thorne as well. But to learn that Geralt is now there in his place?

His heart leaps into his throat and he is halfway to demanding the other man tell him his exact status at once when Geralt offers it willingly. Which is — refreshing, quite honestly. Though he has to wonder if “alright” is simply a platitude for his sake.]

[John is equally displeased with the fact that they have been separated so soon after having found each other, although he supposes it could be worse. He would rather not think about that though, lest he manifest the poor luck onto them both.
